%X The library automation integrated system of the Documentation and Information Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, which based on TOTALS library automation integrated system imported from Transtech International Corp. U.S.A. , has been set up and run since 1993. This article introduces the TOTALS system and its characteristics in detail. The ideas and technologies adapted by TOTALS system are significant to the development of library automation system and library information network system.
