%X Abstract Three key points are described in this paper.(1)Background and concept of a prototype of digital library(DL)model in Shanghai Jiao Tong University(SJTU).There are five modules for the DL featuring digitized media,large capacing of information storage and management,quick access,fast transfers,privilege and protection of copyright;(2)Architecture of a prototype of DL in SJTU including topological architecture of campus and library network,network backbone in library and an environment of hardware and softw are; (3)Digital library services and agents,which provide digitized special collections in libraries, online commercial electronic publications and free resource sharing on Internet by uniform interface for users.
