%X After discussing several wireless technologies and their applications,this paper explores the advantages of WAP technology in mobile information service,and then presents a technical infrastructure of the library mobile information service based on WAP which characterized in eliminating data redundancy.Thereafter,the paper also realizes a WAP-based OPAC system based on ALEPH500 system in Beijing Normal University Library.The prototype provides a feasible method for libraries to develop mobile information service.
