%X This report described a case of developmental deep dyslexia involving Chinese orthography. J, a 10 year old boy with normal IQ and little neurological, emotional, behavior problems but had impaired verbal short term memory. His Phonological awareness was weak, especially at phonemic and tone levels. When asked to read characters, J produced a number of semantic, visual, and selection errors, very different from children who were normal readers and of his same age. The present study also discussed the subtypes of Chinese developmental dyslexia and their distribution.
