%X : The authors' focus of attention is on AI-aided DSS design and implementation. Based on the concept of generalized modelling and the combination of simulation and AI technique, an integrated knowledge base management system has been developed. It is used to manage the model base, data base as well as the dialog base in a unified and harmonious way so that the problem solving process can be automated. The users of IEDSS are high ranking leders of the Nanyang Region and the system is installed in government offices for providing support to all the three stages of decision-making namely information, design and selection. The advanced multi-window technique in its man-mchine interface rises the effectiveness and flexibility significantly in use.
