The difficulty encountered in system performance evaluation is the solution of the resulting nonlinear equations. Conventional methods, such as Newton Raphson iterative method, have been used to solve this problem. As to the cases that the derivatives of detection probability and false alarm probability of the distributed local detectors do not exist, these methods do not work either. This paper presents the application of genetic algorithm (GA) in the performance evaluation of the distributed detection system in those cases and gets satisfied results. %K distributed detection system %K genetic algorithm %K detection probability
