This behavior is especially unusual because the thermal contraction is isotropic over its entire existence range. Recent progress on the unusual negative thermal expansion properties and the origin of ZrW2O8 were reviewed. This paper also discussed the phase transition and its mechanism of zirconium tungstate ZrW2O8 %K negative thermal expansion %K ZrW2O8 %K framework structure
