%X The rutile single crystals were groawn by Verneuil method with the raw material of the ultrafine TiO2 powder. The crystals were oxidized and annealed at different temperature for different time.The optical absorption of the crystals was investigated by means of UV-VIS, FT-IR. Moreover,the influence of the Powder characters and the growth atmosphere on the crystal groawth was also studied.
