%X Under mild solid-state reaction conditions a novel Eu3+ doped-aluminosilicate that is isostructural with NaGdSiO4 was synthesized, and characterized by X-ray diffractions and a scanning electron microscope. The results indicate that Eu3+ doped aluminosilicate can emit powerful red fluorescence under the excitation of ultraviolet light. The effect of temperature and doping concentration on the emission and excitation spectra of the as-prepared material was also discussed.
