A mathematicalmodel of thermal shock failure and theoretical calculation formula of the coatings' thermal shodfailure life were established. It is shown that the thermal shock failure mechanism of caatings isthermal stress fatigue destruction and that the formula accords well with the test results. Thecritical temperature range aTe in thermal schok can be used to evaluate the coating's resistanceto thermal cycling.
