A novel continuously tunable bandpass filter and switch under the control of an external magnetic field in a terahertz wave band are designed. Detailed calculations on the shift and the variation in the position of the bandgap reveal that the filter and the switch achieved by this two-dimensional magnetic photonic crystal waveguide have good performancs. %K magnetic photonic crystal %K ferrite %K terahertz
