%X A air-sea coupled dynamical system describing the oscillating physical mechanism of ENSO is studied. Using the modified variational iteration method (MVIM), the approximate expansions of the solution for corresponding problem are obtained effectively. And the numerical results show that the approximate solutions from the MVIM method are highly accurate by comparson with the exact solution of the model in a special case.
