%X Based on the modal expansion and field matching technique, the S-matrix of a abrupt change is derived. The open resonator with a series of abrupt changes in radius is studied, and the S-matrix of the open cavity is derived by matrix cascading. A computer program was deueloped to calculate the scattering matrix of the cavity and the result shows good agreement with experiment and HFSS simulation.
