%X Using a ray-tracing code,the imaging process of non-point light sources through a concave grating has been studied.It is demonstrated that under specially designed conditions,a plane spectrum can be formed for non-point light sources.The positions for the plane spectrum have been derived for the sources at different distance from the grating.A criterion has been defined under which the effects of variation of the source-size on the focal plane can be neglected.
