%X The first and preliminary investigation of AlN composites thermal-treated under normal gravity and microgravity conditions by using chemical ovens was conducted during aircraft parabolic flights. The results indicated that, different micros tructures in the samples are associated with gravity level during parabolic flig ht, and microgravity condition allows the synthesis of AlN-borosilicate glass co mposite with improved microstructure, as compared with that under the terrestria l condition. It is favorable to produce AlN-borosilicate glass composites with a relatively uniform distribution of composition and structure. Finally, the use of chemical oven and the potential of material synthesis under microgravity cond ition are appreciated.
