%X An eigen matrix method is reported to obtain the band structure of one-dimensional(1D) photonic crystals. Using this method, we have calculated the band structures of 1D crystals consisting of components with different dielectric constants and geometric structures. It can also be extended to a case where the dielectric constant is dependent on the frequency of the incident light.
