%X This paper presents a theoretical model for erbium-doped fiber lasers, which are passively mode-locked by a semiconductor saturable waveguide acting as a slow saturable absorber and a nonlinear fast saturable absorber- The influences of semiconductor saturable waveguide, fiber self-phase modulation and self-amplitude modulation on mode-locking pulse width and chirp have been analyzed-
