%X A quantum-statistical model for a three-level cascade atom interacting with radiation fields initially in coherent states is presented. By means of numerical summation and saddle-point approximation, the expectation values of the atomic-level operators and the photon numbers are obtained and discussed, which reveals the phenomena such -as the twophoton transitions and the new collapse and revival.
