%X The self-oscillations in a hybrid liquid crystal optical bistable device due to the competition between the DC electric field-induced drift of ionic charge carriers and molecular reori-entation in the liquid crystal are observed experimentally. The relaxation equations of the system are given. The numerical analysis are in qualitative agreement with the experimentalresults.
