%X A total of 40 isolates of soil dematiaceous hyphomycetes belonging to 23 species in 16 genera were obtained from soil samples of Shennongjia Natural Conservation Area. Among them, Curvularia hubeiensis is described as a new species, Scytalidium thermophilum and Torula graminis are new records to China. All specimens (dried cultures) and living cultures studied have been deposited in the Herbarium of Shandong Agricultural University: Plant Pathology (HSAUP).
