%X Xanthomonas campestris pv. retroflexus with herbicidal activity was screened from rhizosphere of redroot pigweed (Amaranthus retroflexus L.) using the glutamine synthetase inhibitor and the microscreen of Chlorella pyrenoidosa model. Petri dish bioassays of model plants and weeds were used to evaluate the influence of Xanthomonas campestris pv. retroflexus on growth of the selected weeds. Broad leaf weeds belonging to dicots were confirmed to be its target weeds, such as Redroot pigweed and Shepherd's purse.
