%X Recently, plant endophytes attract much attention due to their special ecological significance. Here reviewed is the recent research advances in plant-endophyte interaction. Specifically, we mainly focused on the beneficial effect of endophytes realized by growth-promoting and production of pathogen resistant substances. We also reviewed one of the recently concerned areas that endophytes obtain high adaptabilities by forming biofilms on the tissue surfaces of their host plants. Finally, using symplasmata formed by rice endophyte Pantoea agglomerans YS19 as an example, the physiological and ecological significance of these multicellular aggregations and their researching future were discussed.
