%X 562 strains ot bacteria were isolated from 147 cocboaches of 3 species, Blatlellagermanica Linnaeus, Periplaneta americana Linnaeus and P.faliginosa Serville, which collectedin 6 cities of China. The isolates preliminarily idenhfied belong to 13 genera. Thecharacterishcs of the cockroach bacterial group and number are as follows:1. The prevalent bacteria(total of 75.09%)are composed of Escherichia, Bacillus andBrevibacterium.2. 85 strains of Serratia and Pseudomonas are total of 15.12%.3. 55 strains of other 8 genera are only total of 9.79%.Bacterial groups and numbers of canying of 3 species cockroaches and their four samyoheswere compared. Among the bacteria discovered, some night be related to human diseases.
