%X Organonitrogen compounds in oil has been widely used to study oil migration distance. Many foreign scholars and some Chinese scholars have done much work in this field. In the meantime, quite many attempts have been made and /or some results achieved in the studies particularly during recent twenty years. Nevertheless, there are still many issue in organonitrogen compounds studies which need further exploration, such as extent which original source material, paleoenvironment and thermal maturity have influence on the parameter of neutral nitrogen compounds, validity of application of pyrrolic compounds parameters during oil migration. Based on these problems, lots of new progress have been achieved by some scholars in recent years and some important conclusions have been made so as to benefit the development of organonitrogen compounds studies.
