%X In this paper, the author summed up methods of petroleum-generating including bulk flow pyrolysis, sealed vessel pyrolysis, pyrolysis-gas chromatography (-mass spectrometry) and basin modeling. By simulation, lots of petroleum geological question were researched such as petroleum-generating mechanism, building of petroleum-generating mode, affection of petroleum generation, resource valuation and petroleum migration effect . Development trend of petroleum-generating simulation were concording with natural condition.
