%X How to prevent shallow-layer gas blowout is a tough problem that should be solved urgently. In this paper, the distribution regulation and characteristics of shallow-layer gas in Dagang shallow water (offshore) area are described, the reasons for the blowout and its characteristics are analyzed. The technologies for preventing shallow-layer gas blowout of shallow water area, such as drilling design, drilling operation and so on, are also discussed and concluded.
