%X The study on oil & gas accumulation is very important in petroliferous basins.According to focus on hydrocarbon accumulation lately several years,the paper gives its influence on petroleum geochemistry,high-over mature source rock evaluation and oil and gas exploration by actual examples.The geochemical features of oil and gas are controlled not only by source rock but also by hydrocarbon accumulation process.To evaluate source potential,especially high-over mature source rocks,it is much important to merge source evolution with static source conditions.And the study on hydrocarbon accumulation process could help identify the exploration direction,based on foreland basins of middle-western China.
