Cross in Clorado School of Mines is a new principle that basing on the data of drilling, outcrop, logging and high resolution seismal section, using fine techniques of sequence partition and comparison to change one-dimension drilling information into three-dimension stratigraphy relationship, it can set up genetic stratugraphy comparison construction, and evaluate and forecast the distribution of reservoirs, cap formation and oil source bed. The high resolution sequence stratigraphy included the principles of stratigraphic base level,volumetric partition.facies differentiation and rule for chronostratigraphic cycle correlation as its theoretical bases.Originally Professor Deng Hongwen introduced it into China. Many scholars paid highly attention to it later. More and more scholars devoted them attention to the study of principle and application, and published many valuable articles that have brought out a great development to the high resolution sequence stratigraphy.The great achievement in it mainly embodied in Innovation of its principles, Application of exploration and development in petroleum and gas, and Application in other aspects. Thought the high resolution sequence stratigraphy has a lot of shortages, compared with classic sequence stratigraphy, it has gotten rid of this view that the sequence formation was mainly controlled by the change of sea level in continental facies, and has set up fine continental facies's sequence stratigraphy construction.
