%X By analyzing current situations on Chinese Materia Medica (CMM) processing industry, the author proposed that the present patterns of processing production should be transformed from several aspects such as manufacturing technique, equipment, management in order to gradually realize its regionalization and specialization on the basis of inheriting traditional experiences. The producing area processing mode should be widely popularized after feasibility investigations. The process monitoring should be strengthened as establishing the high technological content and standard specialization processing production line by using of the modern detection and control methods to complement the traditional experiential control. At the same time, it is necessary to make full use of the research results since "Ninth Five-Year" Plan to develop the individual characteristics of the quality evaluation method and standard for processing CMM. Taking the source, process control until quality evaluation as the whole process monitoring, it can ensure the processing quality and clinical effect and in favor of the scientific management. It also will play the powerful role in promoting the CMM processing industry.
