%X Starting with the status quo of the pharmaceutical industry in China this article makes a comprehensive assessment and analysis of the competitive strength, potential, environment and stance of China's pharmaceutical industry, drawing the conclusion that the country' s moderate scale of pharmaceutical industry has become a vital factor which restrains its investment in R&D and its enhancement and development of the capabilities of technical innovation in pharmaceutical industry, and puts forward six key problems which should necessarily be solved in the improvement of international competitiveness of China' s pharmaceutical industry.
