A total of 54 SD rats were randomly divided into three groups. In the normal control group, no attack was given in the modeling. In the model group, on the depilatory area, blowing apparatus was used to attack marked range for the establishment of the model with soft tissue swelling with acute injury. In the drug treatment group, curing-injury cataplasma was scattered on the stricken area immediately after the model establishment of soft tissue swelling with acute injury and fixed with bandage. After modeling, rats were killed respectively in six time phase points, namely 1 h, 6 h, 1 d, 3 d, 5 d, and 7 d, three in each group at each point. In marked area some tissues were removed. In the taken tissues, wet-to-dry specific gravity method was used for the detection of the water content of skeletal muscle. Western blotting and qPCR method were used for the detection of AQP-1 protein and the level of gene expression. Then, correlation analysis was made. The results showed that in all six time phase points, in the modeling and drug treatment groups, the water content of skeletal muscle was higher than that of the normal control group. In three phase points of 3 d, 5 d and 7 d, the water content in the drug treatment group was lower than that of the modeling group. And for the modeling and drug treatment groups, the AQP-1 protein and the level of gene expression were higher than that of normal control group. There was a statistically significant difference between drug treatment and model group. It was concluded that the curing-injury cataplasma can relieve soft tissue swelling with acute injury, and accelerate the process of repair after the injury. %K AQP-1 %K soft tissue swelling with acute injury %K skeletal muscle %K curing-injury cataplasma
