%X Near-infrared spectroscopy is a flourishing analytical technique. This article introduces the methods of spectrum preprcocessing and wavelength selection according to the modeling flow. It also reviews the applications of near-infrared spectroscopy-based chemical pattern recognition in the quality control of traditional Chinese medicine industry, and presents some comments and prospects concerning the future development of this technique.
