%X Objective To determine the content of protocachuic acid in Yanglixiao capsules (made of clove leaves).Method HPLC method is used with chromatographic column Krmasil C18(4.6×200mm,5um),acetonitrile-water(15:85V/V)of mobile phase,1.0mL.min of flow velocity and 260nm of detection wavelength. Result There would be a linear relationship when the application of protocachuic acid ranges within 0.06-0.18ug and in this case the average recovery of this acid can reach 99.8% with 1.2% of RSD .Conclusion This method is simple and convenient to application and therefore it can be used to determine the content of protocachuic acid in Yanlixiao capsules.
