Results showed that allelochemicals could affect the concentration of ginsenosides in ginseng seedling roots. Phenolic acid chemicals could noticeably reduce the content of ginsenosides, when its concentration reached a given level. It is concluded that allelochemicals in the root exudates not only affect the seed germination, seedling growth, and the physiological and biochemical indicators, but also have a bearing on the concentration of ginsengsides. %K Panax ginseng %K Ginsenosides %K Colorimetric method
