%X Amomum tsao-ko is an important condiment and medicinal plant.The plantation area and yield of Amomum tsao-ko in Yunnan province account for more than 90% in China.Through research on fundamental situations of Amomum tsao-ko plantation in Yunnan province,current status was analyzed and suggestions were made on the Amomum tsao-ko industry in Yunnan province.Suggestions are as follows.New cultivars should be screened and selected through evaluation of current cultivated species.Studies on pests and pathogens should be strengthened for control measures.Fruit-setting rate and yield should be further improved.Exploration should be made on new processing technology and safe "green" Amomum tsao-ko fruit production.Leading enterprises should be supported to increase the product-added value.Amomum tsao-ko fruits should be cultivated into a defined Yunnan name brand.
