%X The effects of CMM are based on their chemical composition. And it is important to identify the chemical material basis of CMM by means of high-techniques in the course of CMM modernization. The introduction of hyphenated chromatographic - spectroscopic techniques represented a substantial step-forward for Chinese herbal compound analysis. The hyphenated chromatographic -spectroscopic techniques include GC - M S, GC-FTIR, LC-MS, LC-NMR, tandem LC-NMR-MS-MS, et al. It is of good prospects for the coupling of Micro-HPLC(Capillary HPLC) with multistage soft ionization MS like ion trap (MS"), triple stage quadrupoles(MS-MS) and tandem quadrupole-Tof MS(Q-Tof) by the AP interface (ESI and APCI). The rest of the paper explored LC-MS approach on the study of da-chuan-xiong-fang.
