%X A study on seasonal variations of zooplankton community in Gonghu Bay in Lake Taihu, was conducted from Jul. 2006 to Jun. 2007. Thirty-five zooplankton species were identified in Gonghu Bay. The annual average density and biomass of zooplankton were 467 ind. L-1 and 1.726 mg L-1 in Gonghu Bay. In Gonghu Bay, Polyarthra trigla was dominant species, with 99 ind. L-1 in density and contributing 22% to the total zooplankton abundance. And Brachionus Calyciflorus also was dominant species, with 49 ind. L-1 in density and contributing 11% to the total zooplankton abundance. There were significant negatively correlations between the abundance of rotifer and concentration of suspended solids and the biomass of copepod. The abundance of cladoceran was significant negatively related to the biomass of rotifer. The correlation analysis showed the abundance of copepod was positive significantly related to water temperature, total phosphorous and the biomass of cladocearan.
