%X A non-contact dynamic testing technique for a flexible beam undergoing wide range of movement is presented in this paper. EAGLE-500 motion analysis system and its corresponding analysis software EvaRT4.6 were used to carry out experimental investigation on a flexible titanium alloy beam undergoing wide range of movement, based on the geometrically exact modeling theory and nonlinear finite element technique for a flexible multibody system. By using the former presented parameters from the geometrically exact beam theory, numerical simulation was carried out. Numerical results agree well with experimental results, with only some minor differences between both results due to the effect of air damping and non-perfect geometry of the tested beam. The feasibility of previously proposed beam theory and nonlinear finite element technique by authors for a flexible multibod system was verified. Experimental results also show that camera-based non-contact measurement technique is feasible for experimental investigation on flexible multibody systems, especially for those systems that are impossible to be tested by conventional methods due to lager deformation.
