%X Spatial force system acting on conventional four-bar linkage type of mounting strain clamps is analysed to find the cause of damage.The regions of high strain and corre- aponding strain level are determined on the basis of finite element method and experimental stress analysis.The damage capacity of a clamp is estimated according to the local strain ap- proach(LSA).Such approach may be referred to optimizs the design of mounting strain clamps.
