Explosion energy has transformed into kinetic energy of sand-grains and friction work of sand grain refinement. So the wall assembled by sand bags has an effective performance in blast wave energy absorption and structure protection in explosion experiment. An experiment aimed the load endurance ability of an airtight cylindrical vessel lined with sand wall was carried out by using 366g TNT centrally initiated global explosive. Experimental Results show that sand wall causes the reduction of blastwave pressure peak value as high as sixth of original; the arrival-time is prolonged significantly; stain peak value on vessel outer surface is reduced at least 30%; acceleration peak value at vessel end is reduced as high as 50%.
