%X Yunnan is among the Provinces with the highest species diversity, genetic diversity and ecosystem diversity of freshwater fishes. This paper reported the present situation and endangered status of fishes in Yunnan with comments on the causes. The present policies and measures taken for biodiversity conservation of fishes were also introduced
