%X Long-term monitoring of ecological risks of GMOs, which will emerge during a long period of timeafter commercialized release, is necessary. The contents and approaches for monitoring are different in terms ofvarious GMOs and release conditions. Mathematical models could play an important role for short or long-termmonitoring and for predicting the consequences of GMOs release. The contents, principles and methods formonitoring the ecological risks of GMOs are fully discussed in this paper.
