%X I discussed the roles that mycorrhizal fungi play in terrestrial ecosystems. They form mutualistic association with plants, retain nutrient elements and water in the soil, supply foods for animals,affect the succesion of community and the composition of flora, regulate the integration of the resources and sustain species diversity of ecosystems.
