%X Ten strains of crude oil degrading bacteria were isolated from three soil samples. The isolateswere Gram-negative, aerobic, non-spore-forming rods. All of the ten isolates were able to grow on n-al-kanes with medium length, diesel fuel and crude oil, but not polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon. Based onphenotypic characteristics and 16S rDNA sequence analysis, ten isolates were identified as Pseudomonasspp. (strain EVA5, EVA6, EVA7, EVA8, EVA9 ) and Acinetobacter spp. (strain EVA10, EVA11,EVA12, EVA13, EVA14 ), respectively.
