%X The current research progress in contamination situation and assessment of heavy metals in vegetable plantation soils and vegetables in China was reviewed. The relationship of heavy metals in soils and vegetables in China was established using the data published in recent Chinese literatures. The results showed that accumulated contents of heavy metals in different kinds of vegetables and different varieties of the same vegetable were greatly different. Based on the collected data and standards for environmental quality of heavy metals in soil and foods,we discussed and set up the guidelines for health risk to heavy metals in vegetable plantation soils in China for risk assessment and policy makers.
