%X The Interaction between purple membrane and solvents such as hexane,hexadec-ane, toluene and DMF (dimethyl formamide) was studied. Absorption spectrum, CD spectrum and kinetic process of M412 show that at different conditions,the interaction of purple membrane with solvents affects the properties of spectrum and kinetic process of purple membrane. From the results, we conclude that hexane and he-xadecane are suitable for the preparation of purple membrane LB film.When DMF is used, brillians illumination must be avoided. While toluene is unsuitable.
