The effect of the modification on structure and function of erythrocyte membrane was studied by measuring osmotic hemolytic process, fluorescent quenching, and anion transport. The fast process (K1) of osmotic hemolysis was affected at phenylhydrazine concentration >0.01 mM. This means that the membrane fluidity is decreased. The binding of Hb to the membrane was increased rapidly at phenylhydnazine concentration > 0.1 mM.
