%X A new model of simple cell in the visual cortex based on independent component analysis(ICA) is proposed. The ICA basis functions obtained from some natural images are approximated with Gabor functions, which show the inherent relations between ICA basis and receptive field of simple cell in the visual cortex. And the growth of the visual cortex of the young animal in the special environment was simulated by applying ICA. It confirms to the Blakemore and Cooper experiment resulting from in 1970.
