%X Effects of alteredgravity on embryonic chick neurons have been investigated by the clinostat. After the culture exposed to clinostat rotation for 7 - 9 hours, morphology and movement of the neuron changed obviously; there were only 6. 3% bipolar neurons which was identified as the moving cell, whereas the bipolar neurons covered 34. 2% in control culture. Also, in the clinostat treated culture, processes of some cells developed abnormally and the neurons on the substratum became stellate in shape, with numerous filopodia. The filopodia extended from the neuron surface and anchored to substratum or to other cells. Neurons treated in clinostat and observed under phase contrast microscope showed that the moving activity decreased; no obvious movement was observed from most of the neurons.
