%X To understand the biomass of forest in the karst envirnment, the harvest method has been used for determining the karst forest community in Maolan located in the south of Guizhou, China. The forest studied is a mixed evergreen and deciduous forest in the humid mid-subtropical climatic zone, It was found that the forest has a total biomass of about 146.319 to 190.918 t/ha and the oboveground plant biomasses of arborous layer, brush layer, herb layer and litter layer are 89.198, 5.747, 0.275 and 6.500 t/ha, respectively. The correlation coefficient (r) between DBH and biomass is over 0.900.
